Assessments


All children will receive an occupational therapy functional screening assessment to identify their strengths and participation challenges.


Once their participation challenges are identified, further assessments can be offered including:


  • Sensory processing
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Handwriting
  • Self-care/Independence


Assessments will be matched to the child's needs depending on their age, cognition, communication skills, emotions, and behaviour. Assessments may be informal observations of the child in their natural setting or they may be formal direct 1:1 assessments.


A written report will be provided along with any recommendations.



Interventions


From the assessment, we are able to devise interventions tailored specifically to the individual. This may incorporate treatment therapy, programmes, advice and strategies. Where necessary, we will also provide formal training to both families and professionals who will be supporting the child on a daily basis. 


We are also qualified specialists in:


  • Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS)                     approach to feeding


  • Sensory Defensiveness: a comprehensive treatment approach


  • Ayres Sensory Integration Therapy


  • Self-Regulation programmes i.e. The ALERT program; Zones of Regulation.


  • Quickshifts Sound based Therapy
